July 7th, 2006. St. Louis, MO. Today we went on a tour of the Cardinals brand new Busch stadium.

A well hit ball to deep center field.... Kiser got a good jump on it ... it's back... back... back... to the warning track... Kiser leaps...the ball is over the fence, it's a homerun! CUBS WIN! No! He's got it! He CAUGHT THE BALL! Kiser pulled it back, an amazing catch! CUBS LOSE THE NL PENNANT!

Gretchen decided to wear her Baltimore Orioles onesie.
For those who don't know, the old stadium was demolished after last season. After the final out of the last Cardinal's home game was recorded on the old scoreboard, no further changes were made. Other games around the league that were still in progress when the last out took place were never updated and show up as if they were still in progress. The scoreboard is now located in one of the pavilions in the new stadium. It's a baseball moment frozen in time.

Check out this video from a concourse in Busch stadium on July 19th. The Cardinals were playing the Braves, but storms delayed the game. I'd say so.

I *was* going to say how great it was to tour such a great ballpark with my closest of friends and family, but after that...

As for the Cardinals shirt, I was just trying to fit in with the in-laws. I still bleed Royal blue.
